NEW FRANCE / NEW OREGON
Join renowned wine writer Jon Bonné, author of The New French Wine, and sommelier Kelsey Glasser for an exciting conversation on how France and Oregon actually compare.
Hint: Think beyond Burgundy!
From day one, the Oregon wine industry has hung its hat on a comparison to Burgundy. The regions purport to share similar latitudes and climates, but is that where the similarities end? As Oregon’s terroir is better understood and producers experiment with ‘non-traditional’ grapes (aka not Pinot Noir and Chardonnay), many are starting to think that we should look at Oregon with different-colored glasses.
This unique and intimate dinner (limited to only 30 guests) will feature a brief seminar followed by a 4-course meal - all the while tasting Oregon wines alongside French counterparts. Guests will try 12 wines from all over Oregon, along with French regions like the Auvergne, Beaujolais, Alsace, and more. Signed copies of The New French Wine available.
